Artix Tycho Brahe
Description
Launched in anticipation of BaselWorld 2015, the Oris Tycho Brahe Limited Edition ref. 761 7691 4085 features the newly conceived caliber 761, based on Sellita SW220. This movement features a rare pointer moon complication with a central hand pointing to a special moonphase scale. This hand makes two jumps a day - it is said that this complication depicts the current moonphase more accurate than a regular moonphase display. This watch is inspired by the work done by Tycho Brahe, a 16th century Danish astronomer, whose observations included the facts that the sun and moon revolve around the earth, while other planets revolve around the sun. His findings in turn inspired other physicists, among them Sir Isaac Newton.
